ASH: Preview Review 5/26

The flavor of this card’s traits is perfect. Jedi, Mandalorian, and Spectre but not having Force completely fits the character. Sabine spends a significant amount of time attempting to use the Force in the show Ahsoka without any success.

The card itself seems pretty darn good. A cost of 5 for 9 total stat points could be a bit underpowered on the surface. The addition of Shielded helps a ton. That extra game text is where the card really shines.

Being able to also exhaust a ground unit is just really good. Pairing Sabine with a leader that can add upgrades to her consistently steps right into wombo combo territory. Paired with a leader like Vel Sartha and for an action, you are easily going to effectively eliminate your opponent’s largest or most annoying ground unit each turn.

Overall, this seems like a really fun card that is extremely likely to see play in Premier and that fits the flavor of the character at the specific time pictured in the art.

Now for the potentially bad part…

Lando Lake Country did not win the most recent Regional Qualifier’s Premier event. In fact, it did not even place into the top 8. It has however accounted for nearly 11% of all decks played during the A Lawless Time qualifier season, plus almost 15% of top 8, and just over 15.5% of all qualifier winners. Only Boba Fett – Any Methods Necessary has been higher.

The question could become “Does Lando really need another tool of this caliber?” It’s a pretty solid card that helps slow down an opponent until the Lando player starts putting giant bomb units into play. We could even see a return of Lando Blue as a Nimble Prowess on Sabine would exhaust two units for a single resource.

We’ve had to talk at least one porg off a ledge because of this card and the potential for making an already giant meta share deck even stronger.
