ASH: Preview Review 5/21
This card is likely very good, and not just because it’s an Uncommon.

A likely improvement over the version of Doctor Pershing that we saw in Shadows of the Galaxy. Still two cost for zero power and one less hit point makes this new iteration roughly the same as the first one. However the stats are not the draw here (pun intended).
Where the SHD version had to come into play and then require an action to draw the following turn, this new one due to Support is going to most times draw a card immediately. Of course this makes the card not a turn one play unless that is basically the only possible thing to do other than claiming initiative.
Being of the Vigilance aspect, there are tons of options where a two cost, draw a card unit will be helpful. This could easily show up in control decks with play lines of turn 1 some unit, turn 2 maybe a removal or another unit, etc. until a turn when you could play a removal and Pershing to draw into more removal cards.

Control won’t be the only scenario where Pershing is good. We keep telling the porgs that Aggressive Negotiations doesn’t mean throwing cards at us when they want a new collective bargaining agreement. People at least will have heard of the so far not suspended card by now and having something adding cards to your hand won’t be bad. Imaging Chio Fain turn one, Doctor Pershing turn two. You’ve now drawn two extra cards with two units in play that draw more cards. Sure Pershing is not doing any damage and is resource inefficient when played with three resources in play, but he’s going to get a player to those pump cards faster and with many more cards in hand.
The verdict is still out on whether Support will be a good keyword or not. Certainly for Doctor Pershing it seems incredibly viable.
