The 2026 Galactic Championships are fast approaching and plans are in the works for one of the more fun side activities offered by FFG last year.  The call went out and FFG once again has offered content creators the ability to submit ideas to host their own panels.  

Last year, this was a very fun way for the community to interact with each other with a wide variety of offerings from AMAs, games and trivia and even some fun sneak peaks from FFG themselves.  The Porg Depot team had a great time attending various panels over the weekend last year.  Nils from Holocron Hub hosted a very fun trivia contest with some fun prizes.  

Another exciting one was the top secret panel with the lead designers on Secrets of Power, showing some of the very first sneak peaks anyone had seen from that set at the time.  The first news of spy tokens came out of that panel.  It was exciting to be there and fun to hear that news 37 seconds before it made it to Discord.

While Porg Depot did not host its own panel last year, we have already submitted our proposal for 2026.  Regardless of if we are selected as hosts, we definitely plan on attending more this year, considering how much fun we had last year.

We’re not going to spoil the surprise of what we have planned, but the ideas that didn’t make our final list ranged from fun to “there’s no way you can do that to a porg”.  Here are a few of our ideas from the cutting room floor.

Porg Yeeting

Porgs could of course fly a bit on their own.  However, how far can they be launched by a human?  The grand yeeting could be two events, the first of which would involve punting of a porg to see who could get it to go highest and furthest from the drop area.  

The second event could be porg card hurling to see who could toss a porg card the furthest.  No automatic extra points for using hyperfoil variants although the shiny coating on one side could make it more aerodynamic.  Sleeves would absolutely not be allowed of course as the added weight and slickness would be too great of an advantage.

FFG AMA

We’ve seen plenty of interviews by YouTubers talking with developers and other FFG employees asking them all kinds of things about Star Wars Unlimited.  This would be our chance to ask them about all kinds of non-SWU topics.

Who in the office is most likely to steal your pen?
Who brings the best stuff to the office pot luck events?
Which person has the most detailed hair regimen, Jack or Tyler?

Nothing off limits or out of bounds.  This would be our chance to find out what makes the FFG staff really tick.

Dev Dunk Tank

If the developers don’t sufficiently answer our questions in the AMA session, what better thing to do than get them into a dunk tank and start hurling baseballs at the target to drop them into some cold water?  *Usage of the Force to press the release lever not permitted.

Porgternal World Championship

Sure you could compete with the best of the best for the Star Wars Unlimited Galactic Championship.  The much more amusing test of skill would be to take down all your foes with suited up Voltron Porgs in the Porgternal World Championship.
