Between Two Sabers: Jack Nicholporg

Exclusive Interview with Jack Nickolporg

Conducted by the editorial team at Porg Depot
Location: A smoky cantina booth, dimly lit. Two lightsabers buzz faintly on either side of the interview chairs.

Porg Depot: Jack, thanks for taking time out of your incredibly busy leisure schedule to talk with us.

Jack Nickolporg: (leans back, feathers slicked back like a holo-star) You know me — I never turn down a good chat, especially if there’s a drink and some drama involved. You folks got both.

Porg Depot: Let’s jump right in. What did you think when you first saw the preview card Curious Flock from Legends of the Force?

Jack Nickolporg: (grins wide, beak tilting slightly) I looked at that card and said, “Now that’s a flock after my own heart.” Curious, bold, probably up to something. That art? Magnificent. That ability? Dangerous. And I like dangerous.

Porg Depot: So, Jack… you were recently quoted saying “The Curious Flock is the best card since Force Lightning.” Was that before or after you misread the rules and thought it could fly?

Jack Nickolporg: Listen — I don’t play by the rules. I reinterpret them. Besides, that flock? Curious, unpredictable, and likely to turn on you mid-game. Reminds me of my dating life.

Porg Depot: That’s funny. I didn’t think porgs dated. I thought they just… gathered.

Jack Nickolporg: Only the boring ones. I’ve been banned from four starcruiser lounges and a Mon Cal opera house. I live fast. I molt faster.

Porg Depot: Right. And now you’re promoting Curious Flock, a card that does… what, exactly?

Jack Nickolporg: It enters play, asks too many questions, distracts your opponent with its innocence — then steals their best unit’s snack. It’s chaos in feathers. A true wildcard. Like me in a Holochess tournament.

Porg Depot: You’ve played smugglers, sith bartenders, exiled Jedi in rehab. If Curious Flock were a character in a film, who would they be?

Jack Nickolporg: Picture this: they’re the ragtag sidekicks in the third act who end up stealing the whole show. You think they’re comic relief — then boom — they’re holding the kyber crystal and rewriting the ending. I like that in a bird.

Porg Depot: Some say Curious Flock is an allegory for the fandom — always digging, theorizing, searching for connections. Thoughts?

Jack Nickolporg: (removes sunglasses for emphasis) The fandom is the flock. Hungry. Huddled. Bright-eyed and slightly unhinged. And if the powers that be don’t respect that? Well… (leans in) they might just get pecked.

Porg Depot: Okay. Next question. Who do you think would win in a fight: Curious Flock, or a caffeinated Ewok?

Jack Nickolporg: Trick question. The Ewok joins the flock. Then they unionize. Suddenly you’re down three shields and rethinking your life choices.

Porg Depot: Any final words for your fans at Porg Depot?

Jack Nickolporg: Stay curious, stay wild, and never let anyone tell you a porg can’t change the course of the Force. Oh — and if you run into that flock? Tell ‘em Jack says they owe me a drink.
