JTL Porg Values Part Five

Calculated Porg Value = -0.5

The Swarming Vulture Droid is not all that impressive on stats by itself. However, this ship can get up to a max of 6.5 porgs with all 15 on the board!! If you can make that happen then you deserve all those porgs. This is a fun card that every card game seems to have some version of. To the first person who gets all 15 on the board at once, we’ll roast a porg in your honor.

The new version of the Ghost we’ve been given is certainly a step up from the one in Spark of the Rebellion. You have to do quite a bit of work to squeeze anymore porgs from this ships and even then, the payoff isn’t very high. Is this card competitive? No. Is it OK to have cards that are not competitive but let people enjoy playing with their favorite characters and ships? Debatable.

Phoenix Squadron A-Wing is an interesting card in that it is worth 0.0 porgs, but will still likely see plenty of play. 2-cost, 3/2 ships in space have always been at a premium. Kylo’s TIE is a Legendary, and his extra benefit is not much better this new A-Wing. Not every good card needs to have a positive porg value. This goes to show you, even Barnaby Porgsbottom can be wrong on occasion. This is not one of those times since he claims to have actually invented the A-Wing, but one day, maybe he’ll be wrong about something.

3-cost 4/5 space unit? Yes, please! I have to do what when it dies? The AT-Hauler has a respectable 1.0 porg value, but boy does it have some poor matchups. Playing this into a Power of the Dark Side is about as bad a start as you can have. On the other hand, using Han to play it on turn 1 and make your opponent deal with it can be a pretty big mountain for them to climb. If only Han could play cards to bounce it off the board if they steal it…
