Legendary Prices Jan 17, 2025
The overall market is up this week. Could be the start of a trend. Hope you got your DJ Blatant Thief cards already.
Total Value
The value of a single copy of each legendary’s standard version TCGPlayer Market Value across all three sets rose to $516.34 over the past week with the average legendary price of $10.76. This marks the highest point since January 3rd.
Looking at the graph of values, the two recent dips show an uptrend in the bottom of the market, plus with today’s peak there is a little bit of an uptrend channel forming. Not the stock market but hopefully we will see this trend continue.
Quick note about market price versus the lowest listed…
The Market Price is where the TCGPlayer algorithm says the price ought to be. Above that price and a card may be overcasted. Below and you could be getting a deal. This plays in with how a card is trending as well in that seeing the lowest listed move up as well as the market price shows a strong sign a card is becoming more valuable. We are using the market price for the graph above, however show both data points in the charts below, and sort those charts based on the lowest listed for top and bottom of the market. Percentage changes are also based on lowest listed currently.

Top of the Market
Cad Bane is a notables at the high end of the prices in both standard and hyperspace variant. Also making some moves are both versions of Now There Are Two Of Them. This is absolutely a downstream impact of the meta and the strength of Villain Cunning decks.
Vigilance made some nice gains as well over the past week. Also meta related this could be a sign that there may be an upcoming shift to more control oriented decks to attempt at combating the various Cunning midrange decks, especially Han1 Yellow.
Note that the hyperspace variants are only shown in their individual top 10 list as we focus on the standard variants.
Winners and Losers
225% gain. Yes, that would be DJ making a major move up. Granted he was previously at a very modest $4.00 but the incredible strength and solid Planetary Qualifier showings by decks running Han Solo – Audacious Smuggler paired with a 30 point Cunning base are clearly moving this card a ton.
On the bottom end, Superlaser Blast was down and seems pretty cheap at the moment. If heavy control decks start to grow in popularity in an attempt to combat the Han Solo Cunning behemoth, now could be a very good time to jump in on these.
Cheapest
Usual suspects at the bottom of the list this week. Nothing too Earth shattering here unless you want to fill out sets or have some interesting use for these. Could be something that might combo well with an upcoming Jump to Lightspeed deck, however don’t think that is the case at this point.
