Showcase Prices Jan 12, 2025
Bit of a downer for showcase pricing this week overall. There were a couple bright spots with The Mandolorian leading the way. Plus another one to watch after PQ week 2.
** Data gathered from TCGPlayer at ~7:15am EST. Full data set here. Also special thanks to SWU Competitive Hub for compiling PQ data over the weekend.
All Showcase Trend
Full showcase value dropped again for the sixth week in a row.
Current Top 10
Boba Fett Collecting the Bounty stayed on the top of the price list despite the suspension and therefore zero usage in the first two weeks of Planetary Qualifiers.
We noted last week that Sabine Wren might be worth watching due to her good showings during the first PQ weekend. She remains unchanged this week. Interestingly there were two sales in the last seven days at $289.99 and $260.05. The remaining four listings are at or over the $300 mark which seems to be her benchmark as anything under sells and anything over seems to sit currently.
Han Solo, Audacious Smuggler may also be worth keeping an eye on now based on PQ week two. Taking up a higher portion of the field and placing multiple players in top 8 finishes. Four sales over the past week three of which were in the high $200’s just under the $300 mark. The fourth sale was oddly at $371.25 which seems strange even for an outlier due to shipping as there are numerous other listings around $300.
Winners and Losers
The Mandolorian was the big gainer on the week in terms of dollars and also with a significant percentage increase. This was based on five sales over a seven day period including one that was noted as having some vertical print lines that went for a bargain price of $125.
Cad Bane may be the only surprise near the top of that list of showcases that dropped. Obviously showcase cards are very low volume, but Cad’s pricing has still been bouncing around quite a bit over the past few weeks.
Race to the Bottom
Jyn stays on the bottom of the list this week. However, Lando Calrissian may be giving her a run for her money in the next few weeks. Also of note, IG-88 made a nice jump to get out of the bottom five and solidly into 6th from the bottom.
Additional Notes and Comments
For prior price tracking of showcase and legendary cards please visit the Porg Depot Pricing Page.
Keep in mind that all showcase cards are relatively low volume in sales when compared to Legendary and Rare cards. A single listing and sale could skew some of this data. TCGPlayer tries to compensate for this by listing a “Market Price” in addition to the actual price of available listings. The TCG site refers to this as “This price point is compiled from recent sales completed on TCGplayer.com. TCG Market Price is updated as transactions complete and reflects the best suggested retail price of a product.”
