Showcase Prices Jan 6, 2025
First major Planetary Qualifier weekend has completed. However, not yet seeing an impact on Showcase listed values just yet as that could take another week to settle in.
** Data gathered from TCGPlayer at ~7:15am EST. Full data set here. Also special thanks to SWU Competitive Hub for compiling PQ data over the weekend.
All Showcase Trend
Full showcase value dropped again for the fifth week in a row. Again this is likely contributed to more product being opened and therefore more overall listings of cards available for sale.
Specifically of note would be a relatively large drop in the Spark of the Rebellion Boba Fett. Without that that drop the overall showcase value would have only been reduced by 0.14% which would have been nearly flat on the week and the lowest drop since our tracking of this stat began.
This pricing along with the rest of the data that follows is based on the TCGPlayer.com lowest listed price currently available for purchase.
Current Top 10
As mentioned, Boba Fett Collecting the Bounty while still atop the price list, took a fairly large tumble this week. He had seemed to stabilize around the $450 mark. There are now eight listings below that price point with four of them being right around the $400 level. This is not an anomaly and looks like the market is continuing to react to the suspension.
Cad Bane had previously dropped out of the top 10 last week due to an extremely underpriced listing. With that one having sold within a few hours of last week’s post on showcase pricing, Cad is back up to roughly where he was the week prior for lowest listed. However, the only sales have been the low one that was noted, another at about $220, and then a second very low listing at $200. It is possible that the current listing is a bit high for Cad. According to SWU Competitive Hub he had one PQ win over the weekend and 7 total top 8’s. The next week could be telling for where Cad really stands in the meta.
The one to really watch might be Sabine Wren. Only up a single cent over the past week, she notched 4 PQ wins and 21 total top 8’s. She will undoubtably continue to be a top tier deck in the Twilight of the Republic meta and the strong week one finishes could see a spike in price here.
Winners and Losers
Cad Bane was the biggest winner on the week as noted above. Quinlan Vos and Han Solo, Audacious Smuggler, also made significant gains. Expect Han to rise a bit on the basis of the two PQ wins and 16 top 8’s over the weekend.
The loser on the week is pretty much a who’s who of leaders not in the current meta.
Race to the Bottom
Jyn retain’s her “lead” in still being the cheapest available showcase although her margin shrunk a decent amount over the week.
Additional Notes and Comments
For prior price tracking of showcase and legendary cards please visit the Porg Depot Pricing Page.
Keep in mind that all showcase cards are relatively low volume in sales when compared to Legendary and Rare cards. A single listing and sale could skew some of this data. TCGPlayer tries to compensate for this by listing a “Market Price” in addition to the actual price of available listings. The TCG site refers to this as “This price point is compiled from recent sales completed on TCGplayer.com. TCG Market Price is updated as transactions complete and reflects the best suggested retail price of a product.”
