Legendary Prices Jan 3, 2025

An up week for the Legendary market as we head into Planetary Qualifier season. This could easily represent players grabbing the last cards needed for their decks after franticly testing to figure out what works best for them.

The value of a single copy of each legendary’s standard version across all three sets has gone up for the first time since we started tracking this stat. $517.48 as of this morning, only slightly removed from the high point a couple days ago.

Top of the Market

The standard version and hyperspace markets have the usual suspects at the at the top of the list. While not quite mirrors of each other, there should not be any surprises at this point. All of the cards in either top 10 list are extremely playable and have become staples in a variety of top meta decks.

Note that the hyperspace variants are only shown in their individual top 10 list as we focus on the standard variants.

Winners and Losers

Standard variant top gainers by dollar amount were not Earth shattering. Modest gains for a handful of highly playable staples, plus Rey making a showing as well.

When viewed by percentage change there were a couple massive spikes. Final Showdown may have set a record for largest percentage increase in a week at a nearly 145% gain based on a sale volume of 33 over the past week. It even reached a high point of $1.98 with a 3x sale a week ago. Worth noting that the higher price point may still have been “worth it” due to the multiple units from the same seller that could have resulted in a savings on the shipping costs.

The largest drops by dollar amount were all near the top of the market this week. While people are likely grabbing things for PQ decks, there are also those that are realizing some cards just don’t work for them and pricing them to move. These moves could also simply be the result of more product getting opened.

Cheapest

Dryden Vos, with his 100% price gain going from $0.75 to $1.50, moved him out of the bottom end of the legendary card market. The cheapest character is now Chancellor Palpatine – Wartime Chancellor. While the Chancellor did gain on the week he still comes in at #6 from the bottom.
