Showcase Prices Dec 30, 2024
A very low Cad Bane listing has the overall showcase market down a tiny bit. Without that bizarre one, this would have actually been an up week for showcase pricing.
** Data gathered from TCGPlayer at ~7:15am EST. Full data set here.
** Updated at 12:10pm EST – Cheap Cad Bane sold for $200 as of ~11:30am EST (potentially prior).
All Showcase Trend
A set of one of each showcase across all three sets dropped in value by just over half a percentage point. Although this was a fourth week in a row with a drop in total showcase value the amount of change is extremely small. Also of note is that without an anomaly of a low listing for Cad Bane, the overall pricing would actually be up on the week.
This pricing along with the rest of the data that follows is based on the TCGPlayer.com lowest listed price currently available for purchase.
Current Top 10
Despite the suspension, Boba Fett Collecting the Bounty remains at the top the price chart again. This is however with no volume. The last sale for Boba on TCGPlayer was back on 12/7/24 for $450. Expect to see this one drop in the future as sellers start to adjust their prices to move their cards.
Cad Bane dropped out of the top 10 this week falling all the way from the 4 spot down to 15. No sales caused this move, however there was one new listing from a relatively new seller that seems to just have undercut the existing ones to drag the price down by nearly $90. Could be a very good deal if somebody is willing to take the risk on a seller with no sales or feedback within the last year.
Rey jumped into the top end group squeaking in at number 10. Currently there is a nice little gap of just under $27 not including shipping between the lowest listed and the second one. Going to be a nice deal for whomever jumps on that one.
Winners and Losers
Sabine made the biggest jump up on the week. Only one sale at just over $287. There are however only 3 listings remaining with a big gap between the lowest and the second one.
Cad Bane was down the most this week with a loss of nearly $90 which equated to over a 30% drop. As noted in the top 10 section, this is primarily due to the one new listing greatly undercutting the existing ones. Expect that somebody with take the risk on this particular seller and Cad’s price will spring right back.
Race to the Bottom
Nute Gunray’s rein at the bottom of the price list was short lived. Jyn Erso has regained her crown as cheapest showcase available. In fact, aside from Jyn, the bottom of the list was all green.
Additional Notes and Comments
Keep in mind that all showcase cards are relatively low volume in sales when compared to Legendary and Rare cards. A single listing and sale could skew some of this data. TCGPlayer tries to compensate for this by listing a “Market Price” in addition to the actual price of available listings. The TCG site refers to this as “This price point is compiled from recent sales completed on TCGplayer.com. TCG Market Price is updated as transactions complete and reflects the best suggested retail price of a product.”
