Showcase Prices Dec 16, 2024

Will any of the showcase cards make major moves as we move through the holiday season? They aren’t exactly stocking stuffers, but could easily be on players’ wish lists.

** Data gathered from TCGPlayer at ~7:30am EST. Full data set here.

Current Top 10

Jango Fett pulled back again for the third straight week. No actual sales prompted this, but rather just a couple additional listings undercutting the ones that were already posted.

Anakin is the biggest winner near the top of the showcase price list and also overall for the week as noted below. Four sales over the past week may have just grabbed the bottom end of the Anakin market to push the lowest listed a quite a bit higher.

Emperor Palpatine is the other big winner at the top of the price list. The potential meta related impact here is that Jango Tarkintown being a relatively harder match for aggro decks like Sabine has made heavier ramp and control decks more popular to take on the midrange stuff.

While a few cards jockeyed around to different spots, no new showcases broke into the top ten this week and nothing dropped off the high end of the list.

Winners and Losers

As mentioned, Anakin made a big move this week in terms of dollar change and also on the percentage side.

Also potentially of note is that Doctor Aphra continued to climb slowly with a couple of sales pushing her lowest listed price back over the $100 mark.

Jango continued to decline. Again this could easily have been due to early Twilight meta inflation.

Yoda took the biggest tumble of the week, but he’s likely to Force flip his way out of that.

Race to the Bottom

Jyn Erso may have found finally found the showcase bottom. Notching three sales in the sub-$70 range, her lowest listed climbed back above that mark.

Meanwhile Nute Gunray did about as much as he did in the Phantom Menace.

Additional Notes and Comments

Keep in mind that all showcase cards are relatively low volume in sales when compared to Legendary and Rare cards. A single listing and sale could skew some of this data. TCGPlayer tries to compensate for this by listing a “Market Price” in addition to the actual price of available listings. The TCG site refers to this as “This price point is compiled from recent sales completed on TCGplayer.com. TCG Market Price is updated as transactions complete and reflects the best suggested retail price of a product.”
