Showcase Prices November 18, 2024

There have been major changes in the showcase prices over the past couple of weeks. Causes include Boba Fett, Collecting the Bounty getting suspended, some major events including SCG Con Columbus.

Let’s dive in on some data from TCGPlayer. (Data Located Here.)

The Boba Fett suspension had a massive impact to the listed price of his showcase card. At one point it hit a TCGPlayer calculated high market value of $821.05 back in June, with the highest sale price of $969.69. He’s all but cratered now with the lowest listed currently at $380, and the last couple of sales right around that mark. Expect the downward trend here to continue just due to not being usable in Premier events.

Another big mover in the last couple of weeks keeps us solidly in the Fett family with Jango Fett, Concealing the Conspiracy. Ten days ago it was easy to snag one in the $250 to $260 range. Currently the lowest listed is $490 with the last sales being $475 for a mint version and $400 for one that was listed as lightly played. This is likely directly attributed to the strong top 8 finished on the first two days of SCG Columbus, putting five total Jango leaders total into the top cuts of the Friday 1k and Saturday 2k events. Jango did not make the cut on day three, but this upward trend seems likely to continue in the short term.

Sabine Wren is also on the move up. Her showcase market price peaked back in June at $413.44 with the highest sale price of $455. Just over a week ago, two sold for under $200, and another went for $225 only a few days ago. There are currently only two listed now on TCGPlayer with both being just shy of the $350 mark. This could be a trend moving her price higher, but could also just reflect a lack on available inventory.

Twilight of the Republic of course added a few other notables beyond Jango Fett. Anakin Skywalker sales seem to have settled for the moment around the $350-360 mark. Yoda, despite a peak sale price of $499, also looks to be stabilizing a bit around the $300 area with a few sales and listings all around that price point.

At the other end of the spectrum, the race to the bottom is currently being “won” by Jyn Erso at $75 lowest listed price, followed closely behind by Nute Gurney at $80, Finn at $83.49, and Fennec Shand at $84.49. Curious which one will hit the $60 level first, but my money would be on Nute given that he’s not good and the art is a bit boring. (Check out the Twilight of the Republic showcase art tier list for additional Nute Gunray thoughts.)

Will continue to keep an eye on these over the next few weeks. The changing meta should continue to have an impact on showcase pricing as will more product getting opened in the near future for both Twilight of the Republic and the Spark of the Rebellion reprint.
