Product Review: Gamegenic Bastion 50+
The Gamegenic Bastion 50+ is a tremendous deck box, perfectly suited for limited events of SWU.
The box itself is made out of acrylic that comes in a pretty wide variety of colors for $7.99 on Amazon at the time of this post.
The Bastion 50+ feels very solid. The box says that it is “Acid free. No PVC” for whatever that’s worth. There is very little flex while in two pieces when the different sides are squeezed and virtually no give at all when the box is closed.
The mechanism for opening and closing is a simple snap tight which seems to hold the two pieces together very solidly while not being difficult to open.
Where this box like shines is it’s ability to hold a 30 card single sleeves limited deck plus two either Mini Slide hard cases from Gamegenic or two Ultra Pro Mini Snaps. The hard cases are nice for keeping leaders and bases separate from the rest of the deck.
It is possible to squeeze a full 50 card sleeved Premier deck into the box along with the two hard cases. Unfortunately this leaves zero room for a sideboard and it an extremely tight fit. Sleeves used during testing of the box were Ultimate Guard Katanas, so it is possible that a slightly thinner sleeve would allow the fit to go from super tight to just snug.
Overall, the Bastion 50+ is a great mini deck box. Will be keeping one in my bag handy for sealed and draft events moving forward along with thirty ready to go sleeves and the two hard cases.
** I get no commission at all related to these, just really hyped on the product.
