Legendary Prices July 17, 2026
Official release day for Ashes of the Empire. We’re now out of pre-sale mode and getting our first more widespread data.
Average Market Price Trend
Have no fear when looking at the below charts. The drop we are seeing is 100% expected as soon as a new set comes out of pre-sale mode on TCGPlayer.
Here’s the good news…
If you look back at the spike in March, that one was due to A Lawless Time’s release. The spike for Ashes of the Empire is significantly higher to start out. This could point to a better overall set in terms of legendary card playability. It could point to the time of the year. It could point to the porgs simply buying way more cards than they actually need.
However it’s not all bright blue skies so let’s not fool ourselves just yet…
While the initial spike is much higher for ASH than LAW, the corresponding follow up drop is also significantly larger. On day 1 of normal sales mode we have an average legendary price very close to where things landed after the LAW drop off.
What does this mean?…
Likely just that sellers online are going to race to the bottom to recoup some money on the product they opened. We are nearly certain to see a running tail off over the next weeks and months for the ASH cards with a few stand outs that maintain relatively high value due to playability. We’re also likely to see at least some card spike during or just after the Galactic Championship as a sleeper card that finds its way into some team’s well performing deck.
2024 = May have finally hit a bottom end plateau? Fingers crossed.
2025 = Also seems to have leveled off for the moment.
2026 = ASH cards will be the thing to watch here for the next few months.

Top of the Market
Chimaera, Pre Vizsla, and Ninth Sister are all still over the $30 mark despite the ASH overall set drop. If you are headed to the Galactic Championship next week and think you might play in some events without seeing these three cards… You are either in for a big surprise or only planning to play Twin Suns and just luck out in not seeing a one of bomb.
Biggest Winners and Losers
Anakin’s Podracer….? This may not be a fluke. There’s been a pretty high level of sales for this card over the past week. Could be a sleeper hit for taking out a Syril Karn.
I mean, of course the top ten losers are all ASH cards trying to find their proper landing spots for prices. You didn’t really think Arcana Star Map was going to stay over $20 did you?
Cheapest Market Price
Rule With Respect has continued rolling into its 18th week at the “top”.
We’re calling it now… Summa-verminoth will hit the bottom five before the end of the summer. It’s already got a market price of $0.73 and the lowest listed is already down to $0.37. Just a matter of time.
