Legendary Prices May 22, 2026
Still not a ton of great news, but there could be some glimmers of hope.
Average Market Price Trend
The overall standard variant legendary price index continues its slide down. The porg data scientists have attempted to explain this as a being a bad game of Chutes and Ladders, but with just the chutes part.
2024 sets are basically on the exact same trajectory that they’ve been on since rotation.
2025 sets had started to possibly seem stable had a pretty big drop over the past week.
2026 sets (aka A Lawless Time for now) seem maybe have flattened out for the time being.
The fact that LAW could be flattening is maybe a reason to be hopeful. At least until next week when we could be reporting a big drop again.
The other glimmer of hope is that while of course they are not released yet, some of the cards from Ashes of the Empire are looking pretty darn good so far in preview season. The Chimaera seems to be a very good space triangle. Whistling Birds could be one of the better upgrades we’ve seen ever. Grogu has a full suit of IG series battle armor and regardless of playability (which may be pretty decent) is likely to open up with a pretty high price point. Granted as of this morning those are just 3 of the 6 legendary cards that have been revealed and we are of course going to see more.

Top of the Market
Liberty still tops the market despite its continuing decline. Could be due to the meta finally figuring out some ways to beat Lando Lake Country. Could also be due to more supply available due to increased product openings. Regardless it remains a top card and likely will be at or near the top for quite some time.

Biggest Winners
Single Reactor Ignition has been making some moves this week. It is back over the $30 mark that it last touched a few weeks ago. Propelled by the Dedra Vigilance control decks this makes a ton of sense. Heavy control is always going to be part of a meta (unless the designers really did something wrong) and is necessary for a healthy environment. It is also usually one of the slower developing archetypes so it would not be very surprising to see this card go up a bit more.
Lightmaker and Lawbringer are also on the podium this week with gains of over $2 each.
Biggest Losers
The Champion of Mortis is the champ of losing value this week with a $2 drop. The other glimmer of hope here is that he is the only standard legendary card that dropped by that much over the past week with the next highest being only down $1.50 (Liberty).
Cheapest Market Price
Rule With Respect hits double digits at week 10 in the “top” spot. Didn’t even have to do anything to gain some ground as Planetary Invasion which had only been a penny pack actually went up a bit to widen the gap.
