Legendary Prices August 1, 2025

With the first ever Star Wars Unlimited Galactic Championship in the books, we are seeing some very clear movement on cards that were in the hot decks from Las Vegas. This is propelling the overall market trend in a pretty steep upwards climb.

Daily Market Report

Our porg programmers have been hard at work and have finally cooked up something that we think is worthy of actually using our Patreon for other than ad removal.

If you are interested in a daily email with up to date market price data from TCGPlayer, check out the Porg Depot Daily Market Report announcement and details.

Quick Note on Showcases

Yes this is the Porgonomics legendary card day and post, but it’s now after the Galactic Championship and we are starting to get our first data points on the Spark of Rebellion showcase leaders for Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. Still very early in the game for this father son duo and will be interesting to see where these may start to settle. One thing that is different from all other showcases and worth noting is that there are a finite quantity of these (at least as far as we know) since there are none available in any secret stash of sealed product.

Market and Average Price Trends

The total market price of standard variant legendary cards is moving upwards. In fact this is the most dramatic move in a positive direction in a relatively short amount of time since Porg Depot started capturing this data. You can see this run up over the past week or two clearly in both charts below, both our full data range and just the July data.

Why are we seeing this? Well the clear reason is that there is a new set that just dropped with Legends of the Force. Plus, Legends has high powered, high usefulness cards in the legendary slots.

  • Top Price Group
    • Anakin – Champion of Mortis
    • Darth Vader – Twilight of the Apprentice
    • Constructed Lightsaber
  • Second Price Group
    • HK-47
    • Yoda – My Ally is the Force
    • Grogu
    • Grand Inquisitor – You’re Right to Be Afraid

Sure there are still some pretty big “feels bad” legendaries to see when you find them in packs like Oppo Rancisis, Zuckuss, The Father, etc. For the most part, at least early in the time frame after release, the Legends of the Force legendary cards are holding strong and could be the best batch since Spark of Rebellion.

** Reminder that the TCGPlayer Market Price is where the TCGPlayer algorithm says the price ought to be. Above that price and a card may be overcosted. Below and you could be getting a deal. We are using the market price for the overall trend section above, however shift to lowest listed for the sections below.

Top of the Market (Hyperspace and Standard)

Gee, you think the Galactic Championship had an impact on some card pricing?

Force Lightning just shot through the roof. The hyperspace version is now the second most expensive card that is non-foil and non-special printing. Given that many of the top decks from the championship event, including those on the heroic side paying the aspect penalty, were running the card this is not entirely shocking.

We are also seeing Anakin Skywalker – Champion of Mortis remain in the top grouping. Not being tied to either hero or villain aspects is making him incredible versatile and getting him included in many of the current top decks.

** Note that the hyperspace variants are only shown in the overall top 10 list as we focus on the standard variants.

Not pictured in the chart above for the list of the top 10 overall is the standard version of Force Lightning. There is currently a bugged item listed at $4.50 which cannot actually be purchased, trust us, we’ve tried. The actual lowest price for the standard version is currently $34.99. We’ve manually corrected in the filtered chart below that shows only the standard variants of each card. We have also reached out to TCGPlayer to alert them to the issue with the one listing but so far that has not been corrected.

Winners and Losers

For the gainers on the week, the standard version of Force Lightning should be ignored. It was not until the Galactic Championship and its prominence in some top decks that we noticed the bugged listing. We’ll try to keep that one manually updated in the short term and hopefully TCGPlayer can resolve the issue.

Constructed Lightsaber could be the true winner of the week with a 40% jump over its prior price point.

The other pretty interesting thing about this week’s top gainers is that most of them are not only up for the week but also on the plus side over the past four weeks. This correlates back to the overall market trend being on the upswing. It also points to the market trend not only being related to cards from the Legends of the Force set as those are not old enough yet to have the four week data point.

Losers on the week don’t seem terrible. Only one card, Home One – Alliance Flagship, dropped by more than $2 for a lowest listed price. Then only five more cards fell by amounts in the $1-2 range. Again, these number jive with the overall market price trend.

Cheapest

Planetary Invasion is back in the “lead” for cheapest legendary card you can currently buy. Granted, walking by some of the tables at the Galactic Championship this past weekend after draft and sealed pods, you could potentially find some of these cheapest cards for free and just sitting on tables.
