** Don’t forget, regardless of price there are fun ways to get a showcase leader.
Set Averages
Legends of the Force is still in prerelease price mode on TCGPlayer, but we can already see some interesting numbers. The set opens with an average showcase price of $186.92.
Obviously there are some caveats to this. Number one is that there is currently no listed Barriss Offee so the set average is based only on the 17 currently available. Second is that this is the first week after prerelease events and we should expect significantly more product to be introduced in the next few weeks which will lead to more sale listings and likely drive the prices down.
For comparison, Jump to Lightspeed opened with a showcase average price of $236.63 and then dropped to $129.69 after a week or roughly a 45% drop. This doesn’t mean that Legends of the Force will do the same thing. Just pointing out the history and why it makes sense to potentially be cautious with large purchases right away when a new set drops.

Current Top 10

The new Kylo Ren is on top this week although as mentioned above that is highly likely to change over the next week. Boba Fett – Collecting the Bounty and Leia Organa are each down a notch because of Kylo’s solid opening number.
Will be extremely interesting to see how and if any of the high opening numbers for Legends showcases hold in the coming weeks.
Winners and Losers

Grand Inquisitor – Hunting the Jedi made a nice little recovery this week to get back over the $100 mark. This is based on three sales chewing through the bottom end of the listings. After the current lowest listed the prices do start to go up significantly.
None of the new leaders can be on this list just yet as they only have a single data point. If any are potential meta impacting we could see one of them hit the winner list either next week or the following.

Out of all the showcases that dropped over the past week, all of them are also on four week trends of moving in the downward direction as well. One theory on some of this is just the wrapping up of the Jump to Lightspeed meta and people selling off a little bit to have the funds for some hot Force newness.
“The Finn Zone”
The cards in this part of the list have left the meta. They are on a journey to a mysterious realm of disappointment, like a bad Twilight Zone episode where every card is just… meh. This is now officially where all disappointing Star Wars: Unlimited showcase cards go to live in eternal mediocrity. If a card dips below Finn in value, it has entered The Finn Zone, a place where underwhelming abilities and missed potential reign supreme.

Rose stays in her “top” spot in the zone for the fifth week in a row with three more to go to match her eight week record. Luke Skywalker – Hero of Yavin is the new member of The Finn Zone this week with an almost 16% drop putting him solidly into the dubious space.
Additional Notes and Comments
For prior price tracking of showcase and legendary cards please visit the Porg Depot Pricing Page.
Keep in mind that all showcase cards are relatively low volume in sales when compared to Legendary and Rare cards. A single listing and sale could skew some of this data. TCGPlayer tries to compensate for this by listing a “Market Price” in addition to the actual price of available listings. The TCG site refers to this as “This price point is compiled from recent sales completed on TCGplayer.com. TCG Market Price is updated as transactions complete and reflects the best suggested retail price of a product.”
